they should be worked to their capacity in order to show

true economy.

The Curtis type of turbine engine is a most satisfactory

installation for a 100 K. W. requirement or over. It is simple and compact in design, and is economical as well as being modern in construction.

The Bleeder type permits of the taking of the exhaust steam

after its first stage in sufficient quantities to insure the proper

heating of the building.

There are several types of condensing outfits on the market

for use in connection with the turbine, and the engineer in charge should be best informed as to which type would be most suitable in each instance. For smaller requirements than 100 K. W. a direct connected generator with a reciprocating steam or gas engine might best answer the needs of a manufacturer.
